Kankakee County CEO students recently visited Midland States Bank to learn more about the banking industry with Mike O'Brien. Students explored banking from both personal and commercial perspectives, gaining insight into what business owners should know when considering a loan, including preparation, expectations, and financial responsibility. They also had the opportunity to "crunch some numbers" for their individual businesses and get feedback from O'Brien during the visit.

The visit also highlighted career paths in banking and offered an overview of how banks generate revenue and invest in their communities. O’Brien, who serves on the Kankakee County CEO Board of Directors and as a mentor to students, shared practical guidance drawn from his experience. We are grateful for his continued dedication and support of the CEO program.
