Kankakee County CEO Welcomes Back Alum James Bretzlaff to kick off the Semester
Kankakee County CEO Class of ’24 alum James Bretzlaff recently returned to the classroom to speak with current CEO students about trusting the CEO process and making the most of this opportunity. Now a business major at the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois, James reflected on how CEO helped prepare him for college and opened doors to new opportunities.
James credited the CEO program with building essential skills such as networking, professional communication, and a willingness to take thoughtful risks. He also shared practical advice for the CEO National Pitch Competition, drawing from his experience as the 2024 first-place winner. His visit offered students a clear example of how fully engaging in the CEO process can have a lasting impact well beyond the program.
